Hardscape refers to hard landscape materials in the built environment structures that are incorporated into a landscape.[1] This can include paved areas, driveways, retaining walls, sleeper walls, stairs, walkways, and any other landscaping made up of hard wearing materials such as wood, stone, and concrete, as opposed to softscape, the horticultural elements of a landscape. -Wikipedea.org
Walkways, Retaining Walls, Driveways are all different forms of Hardscapes. This process has to be completed before any Softscapes can happen. On Retaining Walls soil will be held in place to become a Large Planting area. Steps will be created out of Block, Brick, or Concrete in order for a person to reach different elevations with ease. Lighting can be added as a safety feature for night time commuting. Upon site visit we will determine weather any Hardscape feature will need to be added, because in some cases its not a want its a must. Hardscape will eliminate any trip hazards(Steps), erosion of soils(Retaing walls), and help with the success of growth of plants/gardening (Planters). Another form of hardscapes would be any fire pit features and Outdoor Kitchens.
